Bobbi Beck @ Arthouse
Arthouse Hotel is pleased to present the tapestries of Bobbi Beck, a longtime Upper West Side artist. Ms. Beck began her artistic journey using oil paints as a medium, and eventually swapped her art brushes and paints for needle and yarn. Inspired by the Medieval tapestries she loved so much as a child, she began creating her tapestries after attending art college. Her work was suddenly transformed into a soft, warm textured fabric effect that aims to convey a message or story that viewers could connect with. The pieces displayed at this exhibition are done on needlepoint backing, but instead of stitching each small hole, as most needlepoint artists usually do, she spans several inches to achieve a more painterly effect, combined with a colorful splash of fantasy and humor.
Bobbi Beck's exhibition is currently on display through Sunday, July 7, 2019 in the Arthouse lobby libarary. If you are interested in learning more about Bobbi Beck or purchasing her work you may contact her directly at firstname.lastname@example.org or 212-866-2933.
